Future Summit 2026 Postponed

Destination Future has announced the postponement of the upcoming edition of Future Summit, originally planned for 2026, to a new date in 2027.

The decision comes in light of the ongoing situation in the Middle East and the resulting uncertainty surrounding international travel routes. Several confirmed international speakers and key participants are now unable to attend as planned, impacting the depth and diversity of engagement that the summit is designed to deliver.

Future Summit is positioned as a high level platform that brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and decision makers to address the evolving landscape of tourism in the Maldives. Maintaining the quality and relevance of participation remains central to the integrity of the event.

The team behind Destination Future & Future Summit noted that they had waited as long as possible in the hope of an improvement in the situation. However, given the timelines required to plan and execute an event of this scale, it was no longer feasible to delay the decision further without compromising the overall quality and impact of the summit.

The next edition of Future Summit is now being planned for June 2027, with confirmed dates to be announced in due course. The postponement is intended to ensure that the platform continues to deliver meaningful dialogue, high impact participation, and tangible outcomes for the industry.
